HOW

YOU BENEFIT

Our NDIS Psychology service provides a wide range of benefits, helping participants strengthen relationships with family and friends, engage with their local community, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Psychology interventions have been proven effective for individuals with physical, psychosocial, neurological, sensory, cognitive, and intellectual disabilities, supporting their well-being and personal development.

Similar to other allied health services, our NDIS psychology clinicians are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. They begin by conducting a disability-focused assessment to identify cognitive, emotional, and behavioral barriers that may be preventing you from reaching your NDIS goals. Based on these findings, they develop an individualized, evidence-based intervention plan tailored to your specific needs.

Our psychology services may include:

  • Skill development in key areas such as social skills, emotional literacy, and emotional regulation
  • Addressing cognitive, emotional, or behavioral challenges that impact goal achievement, such as low self-confidence or problem-solving difficulties
  • Providing psychoeducation and training to enhance the knowledge and skills of both formal and informal support networks
  • Creating detailed reports to support NDIS planning by outlining a participant’s functional needs and challenges

At Carendis Services, we are committed to delivering personalized and effective psychology support, empowering participants to overcome barriers and thrive in their daily lives.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for psychology services to assist participants in achieving their individual goals. The associated fees for these services are outlined in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, which are updated regularly to reflect current rates.

Standard Hourly Rates:

  • Improved Daily Living Support Category: As of October 1, 2024, the maximum hourly rates for psychology services are:
    • New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, and Australian Capital Territory: $222.99 per hour.
    • Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, and Northern Territory: $244.22 per hour.
    • Remote Areas: $341.91 per hour.
    • Very Remote Areas: $366.33 per hour.

These rates apply to both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants.

Travel Fees:

Psychologists may charge for travel time to and from appointments. Typically, up to 30 minutes of travel can be billed for each appointment, and an additional 30 minutes for the return trip if it is the last or only appointment of the day. If no psychologists are available within a 60-minute radius of your location, options such as telehealth sessions or assigning a practitioner from a different area may be considered.

Telehealth Services:

Telehealth offers a flexible alternative to in-person sessions, eliminating travel time and potentially reducing costs. This mode of service delivery is fully funded by the NDIS and can be particularly beneficial for participants in remote areas or those with scheduling constraints.

Service Agreements:

Before commencing services, participants will enter into a service agreement with their provider. This agreement outlines:

  • The specific supports and services to be provided.
  • Associated costs.
  • Responsibilities of both the provider and the participant.
  • Terms for amendments or customizations.
  • Dispute resolution processes.

It's important to review this agreement carefully to ensure clarity on all aspects of the service provision.

Funding Categories:

NDIS funding for psychology services typically falls under the Capacity Building category, specifically within Improved Daily Living. In some cases, Core Supports funding may also be utilized, offering participants flexibility in how they allocate their resources.

For the most current and detailed information, it's advisable to consult the latest NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits document available on the official NDIS website.

By understanding the NDIS cost structure for psychology services, participants can make informed decisions to effectively utilize their funding and access the support they need.
